Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Jitan Ram Manjhi on January 18, 2026 inaugurated the PM Vishwakarma Haat 2026 at Dilli Haat, INA in New Delhi, in the presence of Minister of State for MSME Sushri Shobha Karandlaje. Organised by the Ministry of MSME from January 18 to January 31, 2026, the Haat remains open to the public daily from 10:30 AM to 10:00 PM. More than 117 artisans drawn from every state and union territory are showcasing traditional crafts, with live demonstrations and value-addition stalls featuring handcrafted handloom textiles, wooden sculptures, metalwork, jewellery, terracotta, weaves and embroidery. The event is a flagship outreach under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Scheme, the Centre-funded programme that provides recognition and comprehensive livelihood support to traditional artisans across 18 trades including carpenters, blacksmiths, goldsmiths, potters, sculptors, cobblers, tailors, and fishing-net makers. Scheme benefits include skill training with a stipend of ₹500 per day, a toolkit incentive of up to ₹15,000, collateral-free loans up to ₹3 lakh, incentives for digital transactions, and marketing assistance covering branding, packaging, and e-commerce onboarding. Ambassadors of Iraq and Rwanda, senior MSME officials, and representatives of States and Union Territories graced the occasion. Cultural programmes based on Bihar and Rajasthan folk dance traditions marked the opening evening, reinforcing the "Vishwakarma Ka Abhiyaan, Viksit Bharat Ka Nirman" theme and positioning artisans at the centre of a Viksit Bharat agenda.
