India celebrated Ram Navami on March 26, 2026, marking the birth anniversary of Lord Rama, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The festival falls on the ninth day (Navami) of the Shukla Paksha in the Hindu month of Chaitra, concluding the nine-day Chaitra Navratri celebrations.

The Madhyahna Muhurat, considered the most auspicious time for worship, was observed from 11:13 AM to 1:41 PM, with the most sacred moment at 12:27 PM — the hour Lord Rama is believed to have been born.

Grand celebrations were held across the country, with Ayodhya — the birthplace of Lord Rama — witnessing the largest gathering. Lakhs of devotثees visited the Ram Mandir to seek darshan of Ram Lalla and took holy dips in the Saryu River. Other major celebrations took place in Rameswaram, Nashik, Hampi, and temples across all states.

Banks remained closed in several states including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. Both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) remained shut for the day. The Uttar Pradesh government had declared March 26 and 27 as public holidays for the occasion.
