The National Testing Agency released the NEET UG 2026 admit cards, and by 27 April 2026 candidates could download them from the official portal. The Indian Express report said NTA had earlier posted at 11:16 am that the admit cards would be available by 10 am on Monday, but within ten hours a revised notice confirmed that the admit cards were live. The examination is scheduled for 3 May 2026 from 2 pm to 5 pm in a single shift. It will be held in pen-and-paper mode on OMR sheets across 552 cities in India and 14 countries abroad, showing the scale of the national medical entrance system. Candidates must carry the admit card along with a government-recognised identity proof such as Aadhaar, voter card, PAN card or any document listed in the instructions. The paper will have 180 questions for 720 marks. Each correct answer carries 4 marks and each wrong answer leads to a deduction of one mark. On 27 April, live updates said more than 11 lakh students had downloaded admit cards out of 22.79 lakh registered candidates. NTA also shared troubleshooting advice after students reported download issues: clear browser cache and cookies, use incognito or private mode, try Chrome or Firefox, use a stable internet connection and retry later if needed. Students could also contact the helpline with their application number. The report noted that the earlier city intimation slip only identifies the exam city and cannot be used as a hall ticket. NEET scores will feed two counselling streams: 15% All India Quota seats handled centrally and 85% state quota seats handled by state authorities. Fifteen AIIMS campuses and two JIPMER campuses also accept NEET scores, making the admit card important beyond exam day.
