The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on March 28, 2026, issued a yellow alert for Delhi-NCR, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand amid atmospheric instability caused by an active Western Disturbance. Dust storms with winds of 30-40 km/h and light to moderate rainfall were expected across the National Capital Region.

The weather department warned of gusty winds reaching 40-50 km/h in several districts across Rajasthan. Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh were also placed under alert for strong winds and thunderstorms from March 28-30.

In Uttar Pradesh, light rainfall was forecast for Agra, Mathura, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Meerut. A second Western Disturbance was expected to extend unsettled weather through the end of March.

IMD also warned of heavy snowfall in Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, with avalanche warnings in higher Himalayas.
