A vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) exploded near Delhi's Red Fort on November 10, 2025, killing several people and damaging property. According to the NIA chargesheet filed on May 14, 2026 (a 7,500-page chargesheet against 10 accused), 11 people were killed and several others were injured. The deceased main perpetrator was Dr. Umer Un Nabi, and all 10 accused were linked to the organisation Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH), an offshoot of Al-Qaida in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS). The explosive used in the blast was Triacetone Triperoxide (TATP), which the accused manufactured clandestinely. The Union Cabinet had condemned the incident as a terrorist incident on November 12, 2025, and directed urgent investigation. (Earlier reporting attributing the attack to Jaish-e-Mohammed or a Masood Azhar revenge motive, and an ANFO/ammonium-nitrate explosive, is superseded by the NIA chargesheet.)
