Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw met a delegation from the Shri Khatu Shyam Ji Temple Trust in Sikar, Rajasthan. The delegation included former Sikar MP Sumedhanand Saraswati, Rajasthan Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing (Independent Charge) Jhabar Singh Kharra, and representatives of the Shri Shyam Mandir Committee: Shakti Singh Chauhan, Manvendra Singh Chauhan and Mohan Singh (Das) Chauhan. The discussion focused on strengthening rail connectivity and passenger facilities for the large number of devotees visiting the world-famous temple.
The proposed station will be developed on the Sikar-Ringas rail section between Palsana and Baori Thikaria stations. The Rail Minister said that technical work will be taken up first, including engineering and signalling work connected with existing railway lines, construction of a new railway line and integration with the existing network. Construction of the station building will follow.
The proposed station building, located about 11 kilometres from the temple, will be designed in line with Rajasthan's architectural and cultural heritage. Planned facilities include a modern booking office, a spacious waiting hall, clean toilets, passenger-friendly amenities and other essential arrangements. The project is expected to improve rail access for lakhs of devotees every year, strengthen regional connectivity, support tourism, boost local economic activity and improve railway infrastructure in the area.
