India observed Constitution Day on 26 November 2025. The main national function was held in the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan, with President Droupadi Murmu presiding. The Vice-President, Prime Minister, Speaker of the Lok Sabha and Members of Parliament were listed among the participants. For prelims, this is a direct Constitution-and-polity marker because questions can connect Constitution Day with the Preamble, constitutional values and Parliament-linked national ceremonies.

At the function, the President led the reading of the Preamble. The Constitution of India was also launched in 9 new languages: Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Punjabi, Bodo, Kashmiri, Telugu, Odia and Assamese. These language versions were prepared by the Legislative Department. The exam relevance lies in linguistic access and constitutional literacy: the Constitution is not only a legal text but also a civic document linking citizens with rights, duties and democratic values.

The public-participation plan around the observance included online reading of the Preamble, certificate generation, social media sharing, national online quiz, blog/essay competitions and Constitution-themed activities such as debates, exhibitions and cultural events from panchayat to parliament level. 'Hamara Samvidhan - Hamara Swabhiman' was linked with the quiz and blog/essay competitions. For static GK, remember that the Constitution was adopted on 26 November 1949 and came into force on 26 January 1950. For mains, the topic can be linked with the Preamble's values of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity, citizen participation and the spread of constitutional awareness to local bodies. It also connects directly with the RAS Mains question on fraternity in the Preamble.
