India secured the 8th rank in its first-ever participation at the WorldSkills Asia Competition 2025, competing against 29 nations. The Indian contingent comprised 23 competitors who contested in 21 skill categories, accompanied by 21 expert coaches. India's medal haul included one Silver, two Bronze medals, and three Medallions for Excellence. The Silver medal was won in Painting & Decorating; Bronze medals came in Industrial Design Technology and Robot System Integration; and Medallions for Excellence were secured in Software Application Development for Business, Web Technologies, and Electrical Installations. The achievement was facilitated by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), and WorldSkills India. Women competitors particularly excelled, winning in non-traditional technical skill categories. The performance marks a significant milestone in India's skill development journey and demonstrates India's growing competitiveness in globally benchmarked vocational and technical skills. India aims to compete at WorldSkills 2026 International Competition with an expanded team following this encouraging debut.
