India observed the 123rd birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan on October 11, 2025. Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan paid tributes at Narayan's ancestral home and national memorial in Sitab Diara, Saran district, Bihar. PM Modi, BJP President JP Nadda, and Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tributes.

Jayaprakash Narayan (1902-1979) was a freedom fighter and socialist leader who led the 'Sampoorna Kranti' (Total Revolution) movement against PM Indira Gandhi's government in the mid-1970s. He was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1999. He is remembered as the architect who united opposition parties, leading to the formation of the Janata Party government in 1977.
