Two Naxalites carrying a combined reward of ₹80 lakh were killed in an encounter with security forces in Narayanpur district, Chhattisgarh on September 12, 2025. The encounter followed the major Gariaband operation the previous day, marking continued pressure on Maoist insurgents.

The operations are part of the government's intensified anti-Naxal campaign in 2025, with the total number of Naxalites eliminated reaching record levels. Security forces have expanded their presence in the Bastar division and established new camps deeper into previously inaccessible Maoist strongholds.
