Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya chaired the 239th meeting of the Central Board of Trustees (CBT) of the Employees' Provident Fund on March 2, 2026, which recommended retaining the interest rate on provident fund deposits at 8.25% for Financial Year 2025-26. This is the same rate as the previous year.

The decision benefits over 7 crore EPF subscribers across India. A consolidated EPFO corpus exceeded ₹28.34 lakh crore as on March 2025. The maintained rate reflects stable returns from EPFO's investment portfolio, which is predominantly in government securities and corporate bonds.
