Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma laid the foundation stone for the reconstruction of the Ferozepur Feeder canal at Sadhuwali, marking a major initiative to strengthen irrigation in northern Rajasthan. The feeder's reconstruction, costing ₹647 crore, aims to improve the diversion of surplus water from Harike Barrage and enhance irrigation reliability for both rabi and kharif crops.

The event coincided with the Gang Canal centenary — originally built under Maharaja Ganga Singh 100 years ago and a lifeline for Rajasthan's arid districts. The state government announced projects worth ₹1,717 crore for the rejuvenation and modernisation of the Gang Canal system, including restoration of the Bikaner Canal (₹300 crore) and ₹695 crore for automating 3.14 lakh hectares of the Ganga Canal command area.
