Introduction & Syllabus Context
Flourishing at Work (Topic 126) is the newest and most conceptually innovative addition to the 2026 Behavior syllabus. It has never appeared in PYQs, and the PYQ analysis rates it as Medium-High priority. The topic integrates positive psychology, occupational theory (Holland's RIASEC), and person-environment fit — concepts increasingly relevant to modern human resource management in government (DOPT, State Public Service Commissions).
Why flourishing matters for an RAS officer: Understanding flourishing helps administrators design workplaces where staff are engaged, productive, and ethical — directly improving governance quality. A block development officer who helps field workers craft meaningful jobs, identify their strengths, and achieve person-job fit will see higher motivation and lower absenteeism than one relying purely on authority and compliance.
Exam approach: RPSC may ask about PERMA model, RIASEC types, person-environment fit, or VIA character strengths. Be prepared to connect abstract theory to public administration examples.
