7.1 Rajasthan's Smart Cities

Under the Smart Cities Mission (launched by GOI in 2015), four Rajasthan cities were selected:

Jaipur Smart City Ltd. achievements (as of 2024):

  • ITMS (Intelligent Traffic Management System) at 350+ intersections
  • ICCC (Integrated Command and Control Centre) monitoring city systems in real-time
  • 500 km cycle/pedestrian tracks within ABD zones
  • 90,000+ LED lights replacing conventional street lights (50% energy saving)
  • Heritage zone digital documentation of the Walled City (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

Udaipur Smart City: Focus on lake-zone rejuvenation, tourism infrastructure, and connectivity around Fateh Sagar and Pichola lake areas with Smart Roads and integrated utilities.

Kota Smart City: Chambal Riverfront development (₹300 crore), multipurpose hall, smart road upgradation with integration into Kota's industrial corridor.

7.2 AMRUT 2.0

Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation 2.0 (launched 2021) targets universal water supply and sewerage/septage management in all statutory towns. Rajasthan's AMRUT 2.0 allocation:

  • 213 towns covered; 107 project proposals submitted
  • Water supply: 18 lakh new tap connections (Har Ghar Nal Se Jal target)
  • Sewerage/drainage: 24 new STPs and upgradation of 11 existing
  • Total AMRUT 2.0 investment in Rajasthan: ~₹7,500 crore (central + state share)
