Bissau Origins

Bissau, a small town in Jhunjhunu, was originally called Vishala Jat Ki Dhani and was named Bissau in 1746 AD.

Jaipur Nizamat

The territory now known as Jhunjhunun district was a Nizamat under the erstwhile Jaipur State.

1949 Merger

The former Jaipur State merged into the United States of Greater Rajasthan in 1949, after which Jhunjhunun district was carved out.

Boundary Transfers

At the time of Jaipur State merger into Rajasthan, Neem-ka-thana and Bairath areas were transferred from Jhunjhunun district to Sikar and Jaipur districts respectively.

Nawalgarh Tehsil

After the 1981 Census, Nawalgarh tehsil was formed by transferring 71 villages and Mukandgarh and Nawalgarh towns from Udaipurwati tehsil.
